Judge Hamilton up for Senate vote to Curcuit Judge=stop him

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

EDITORIAL: Jesus, no, but yes to Allah

Senate Democrats are proving once again that no judicial nominee is too extreme for them to stomach. A move seems to be afoot to open debate on the Senate floor this week on the nomination of David Hamilton of Indiana to the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. This judge is a radical's radical.

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, sent a letter on Friday to his fellow senators outlining his objections to Mr. Hamilton, who is a federal district judge. The senator first objected to Judge Hamilton's stated belief that judges should effectively amend the Constitution - "writing footnotes to the Constitution," the judge called it - through evolving case law. Second, Judge Hamilton has publicly and specifically embraced the president's "empathy standard," which even Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has now openly rejected.

Third, Judge Hamilton in many cases has shown an extreme hostility against innocuous expressions of religion in the public square. Mr. Sessions noted, though, that Judge Hamilton's odd ruling in Hinrichs v. Bosma "prohibited prayers in the Indiana House of Representatives that expressly mentioned Jesus Christ ... yet he allowed prayers which mentioned Allah."

Fourth, Mr. Sessions pointed out that "lawyers in the Almanac of the Federal Judiciary describe Judge Hamilton as one of the most lenient judges in his district on criminal....

Surprise: Anti-Jesus Pro-Allah Judge David Hamilton Will Get Senate Vote

Make the 17 phone calls listed below, today, to these key "undecided" Senators.

The Washington Times just reported "a move seems to be afoot" in the Senate to allow a debate and full Senate vote on whether President Obama's Anti-Jesus Judge David Hamilton should be confirmed to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.  You may remember him as the Judge who ruled it's illegal to pray "in Jesus name" but totally legal to pray to Allah on the floor of the Indiana Legislature.  His foolish ruling in Hinrichs v. Bosma was overturned (thanks in part to our legal aid to the Indiana Attorney General).  He also ruled to hasten the abortion of unborn children, but that bad ruling was also overturned. Now Obama wants to reward Hamilton's anti-life anti-Jesus prejudice with promotion to the same appeals court that overruled him.

On Thursday, Senator Harry Reid's (D-NV) staff confirmed that Hamilton is "on the calendar" A VOTE IS POSSIBLE THE WEEK OF THE 9TH. So please auto-fax all 100 Senators to filibuster Hamilton.  Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) wrote a letter to all Republicans on 30 Oct, asking for help in opposing Hamilton, who the Seventh Circuit Court rebuked for repeatedly "abusing his discretion," and for a speech Hamilton gave saying the judge's primary job is "write footnotes in the Constitution" for his own activist causes.  To support Sessions and Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) who called for a filibuster, back in April & May 2009 we sent nearly 700,000 fax petitions to the full Senate against Hamilton, and we successfully persuaded all Republicans to unite against Hamilton, earning all 7 minority votes to block him in the Judiciary Committee.  But all 12 committee majority Democrats voted against Jesus-prayers, and so forwarded Hamilton to the full Senate, where his nomination sat quietly without action for seven months, until now...

SO PLEASE SELECT HERE TO SIGN AND WE'LL AUTOMATICALLY FAX YOUR PERSONALIZED PETITION TO ALL 100 U.S. SENATORS, OPPOSING THE ANTI-LIFE, ANTI-CHRISTIAN JUDGE DAVID HAMILTON.

On 4 June 09, the Judiciary committee voted 12-7 along strict party lines, to forward the nomination of Judge David Hamilton, the anti-Jesus Judge, the same judge who issued controversial rulings banning public prayers offered "in Jesus name," (but allowing prayers to Allah), and hastening the abortion of unborn children.  This vote came after we'd already sent nearly 600,000 faxes to the entire Senate opposing Hamilton, proving some Republicans listen to the voice of the people, and some Democrats remain deaf to our petitions. Now this anti-Jesus Judge Hamilton will face the full Senate, and the threat of filibuster by the pro-faith, pro-family Senator James Inhofe (R-OK).

To stop Hamilton, we need 40 strong Senate votes to stand with Senator Inhofe, to uphold his filibuster.  If we fail, Hamilton will be promoted to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the same court that overruled his aggressive, anti-life, anti-liberty decisions for years.  So we've identified 17 key undecided Senators, from which we need just 7 votes to successfully defeat Hamilton's nomination, (see list below).

T
o support Senators Inhofe and Sessions, and stop Hamilton, we first 40 solid votes by  any good conservatives or moderates, so please call both of YOUR STATE Senators, whom you might call to ask him to OPPOSE AND FILIBUSTER Judge David Hamilton, at 202-225-3121.  We have carefully identified 17 undecided Senators, who should especially receive your blast-faxes in the coming days.

WE MUST TAKE ACTION TODAY.  So please sign our fax-petition (even if you already signed it before), but then PLEASE MAKE 17 PHONE CALLS TODAY to each of the undecided Senate votes here, asking to oppose and filibuster Judge David Hamilton, because he ruled it's illegal to pray in Jesus name, but legal to pray to Allah

ANTI-JESUS, BUT PRO-ALLAH?

Judge Hamilton wrote: "The injunction orders the Speaker...that the prayers should not use Christ's name or title or any other denominational appeal...If those offering prayers in the Indiana House of Representatives choose to use the Arabic 'Allah'...the court sees little risk that the choice of language would advance a particular religion or disparage others."

In other words, Judge Hamilton ruled the words "Jesus" or "Christ" or "Savior" are illegal words, prohibited for public speech, banned by the First Amendment, which somehow prohibits freedom of religious expression, and makes Christian prayers ILLEGAL, but prayers to Allah are TOTALLY LEGAL in a public forum. (What crazy version of the First Amendment is he reading?)

Thank God, we took action in 2007 and provided legal arguments to the Indiana Attorney General who appealed to the 7th Circuit Court and WE WON a 2-1 decision overruling Hamilton, restoring the right to pray "in Jesus name" in Indiana.  But if President Obama succeeds in promoting Hamilton to the same court that overruled him, that good reversal will be in jeopardy.

We're now the leading national voice against Hamilton, and we're getting traction toward a successful Senate filibuster that can stop Hamilton's confirmation, much to the horror of many liberal groups (including the National Abortion Rights Action League who is actively campaigning FOR Hamilton).   But together, we can be a louder voice.

SO PLEASE SELECT HERE TO SIGN AND WE'LL AUTOMATICALLY FAX YOUR PERSONALIZED PETITION TO ALL 100 U.S. SENATORS, OPPOSING THE ANTI-LIFE, ANTI-CHRISTIAN JUDGE DAVID HAMILTON.

Judge Hamilton is the worst of Obama's 15 new liberal appeals court appointees. The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals covers Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois.  Since most cases never reach the Supreme Court, the federal appellate circuits often provide the last word on cases affecting life and liberty.

READ THE FACTS:

The Judicial Confirmation Network quickly opposed Hamilton's nomination, stating that "President Obama's first nominee to the federal appeals courts -- specifically the appeals court based in Chicago -- is an ultra-liberal named David Hamilton who is a former fundraiser for ACORN and former leader of the Indiana chapter of the ACLU. He was nominated to the district court bench by President Clinton even though he had no judicial experience and was rated as 'not qualified' by the American Bar Association."

Now newly promoted Judiciary Committee ranking minority Member Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), agrees with pro-faith Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), that we should oppose and filibuster Hamilton's nomination to the 7th Circuit. Thanks in part to our public pressure, the Republicans and Sessions have twice succeeded in delaying Hamilton's committee votes, saying "This a complex area of the law, I'll admit, but it's time for the federal court to get their heads straight on proper separation of church and state issues."

PLEASE SELECT HERE TO SIGN AND WE'LL AUTOMATICALLY FAX YOUR PERSONALIZED PETITION TO ALL 100 U.S. SENATORS, OPPOSING THE ANTI-LIFE, ANTI-CHRISTIAN JUDGE DAVID HAMILTON.

ANTI-LIFE BUT PRO-ABORTION?

In 2003, Judge Hamilton struck down part of an Indiana law on abortion. The reasonable law had required abortion clinics to simply give women information about alternatives to abortion in the presence of a physician or nurse, 18 hours before the procedure, until Hamilton ruled to hasten abortions. But thank God, the 7th Circuit Court also reversed Hamilton's bad decision in that case.

If confirmed now Hamilton will sit on that 7th Circuit Court (the same court that frequently overruled him) with tyrannical power to rule the heartland of Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin with his anti-life, anti-liberty, anti-Christian agenda.

WE CAN WIN THIS BATTLE!

We've already sent nearly 700,000 faxes to the full Senate, and we're getting results!  On April 1st and again on April 29th, Senator Orrin Hatch led all Republicans to walk out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, in protest against the Democrat "rush job" to confirm Judge Hamilton.
Senator Jeff Sessions said he was troubled by Hamilton's ruling against a sectarian prayer to open the Indiana House of Representatives.  Even Senator Arlen Specter expressed concern about Hamilton while serving as a Republican, but after switching parties he broke his promise to not become a "rubber stamp" for the Obama Administration, and voted to confirm Hamilton anyway. But will any Democrats oppose the anti-Jesus Hamilton?

But first, take action right now! I pray you will not hesitate, but sign the petition and WE WILL FAX your petition right away, automatically to all 100 U.S. Senators.

PLEASE SELECT HERE TO SIGN AND WE'LL AUTOMATICALLY FAX YOUR PERSONALIZED PETITION TO ALL 100 U.S. SENATORS, OPPOSING THE ANTI-LIFE, ANTI-CHRISTIAN JUDGE DAVID HAMILTON.

God Bless you, in Jesus' name,

Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt

P.S. Time is urgent! The full Senate could vote on Hamilton as early as this week.  Select and sign today, & we will forward your name immediately. Please don't wait another minute. Life, Liberty, and Jesus are too important to be banned by one extremist judge.

Pulling the Woolsey over Our Eyes

Is the Democratic Party an official sponsor of the IRS? It certainly feels that way, with the Left repeatedly plugging the agency as its go-to source for scrubbing religion from the public square. Since last week, liberals have tried to sic the agency on everything from congregations in Maine to the Catholic Conference in D.C.--all in a desperate attempt to toss the Church out of the public policy process. Today that strategy took a ridiculous turn as Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) published an absurd op-ed in Politico, calling for an IRS investigation into the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) for its work in passing the pro-life Stupak amendment. In the article, "IRS Should Scrutinize Bishops," she writes, "I expect political hardball on any legislation as important as the health care bill. I just didn't expect it from the United States Council [sic] of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Who elected them to Congress? ... [They] managed to bully members of Congress to vote for added restrictions on a perfectly legal surgical procedure." First of all, the Stupak amendment did nothing to restrict abortion--only the taxpayers' unwilling involvement in it. Secondly, Woolsey must be confusing the Bishops for social liberals, because unlike the Left, they don't bully people to get what they want. Since when has the Left had a problem with intimidating people? (Homosexual activism, anyone?) More importantly, our First Amendment strongly protects everyone's right to speak out no matter what their religious affiliation. It's a sad commentary on our Congress that members like Lynn Woolsey were elected to office without that basic understanding of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Call Woolsey's office today at 202-225-5161 and remind her that the public square is a big place--and Christians, including Church leaders, have as much right to it as anyone.

Health Care Bill or Abortion Bill?

After promising that "his plan" doesn't fund abortion, President Obama should be pleased to see the U.S. House passed the Stupak amendment. But in an interview with ABC's Jake Tapper, the President hinted that an outright ban on taxpayer-funded abortion wasn't what he had in mind. When asked about the future of the Stupak amendment, the President was careful to say that "neither side" of the abortion debate should feel "betrayed," which many took as confirmation that he would work to water down the language that 71% of America supports. "There are strong feelings on both sides," he said, "and what that tells me is that there needs to be some more work before we get to the point where we're not changing the status quo." The 240 congressmen who voted for it understand the Stupak amendment is the status quo. It builds on 32 years of federal law that exempts taxpayers from the bloody business of abortion. President Obama told ABC, "...[T]his is a health care bill, not an abortion bill." Funny you say that, Mr. President, because that's exactly the point of the Stupak amendment. It can't be an abortion bill if abortion isn't included. So let's keep it that way?

The Rising PC Causality Count

The Left would have us believe that political correctness never killed anyone. But there are 13 fresh graves in Fort Hood, Texas to prove them wrong. When Army Major Nidal Hasan opened fire on a crowd of his own military brothers, the tragedy that followed should warn Americans of the devastation that can come from putting blind tolerance ahead of national security. By his own admission, Major Hasan was a radical Muslim who expressed an incredible hostility for the very military in which he served. Yet despite his anti-Americanism, outreach to Al-Qaeda, and jihadist views, Hasan was "treated with kid gloves." Lt. Col. Val Finnell, a student with Hasan, said his superiors were afraid of offending the shooter, even after a poor performance review. "This wasn't about anyone questioning his religious views. [It's] different when you are a civilian than when you are a military officer," Finnell said. And he's right. As a soldier, political correctness is much more dangerous. It shackles our troops' sensibilities and opens the country up to attacks from within. Obviously, our commanders can't force their men to believe in the mission, but if a soldier has moral objections, then he should be excused from duty. Anything less than zero tolerance for radicalism is destabilizing to our military. This was never a question of Hasan's religious freedom but of his loyalty to the country he was sworn to defend. Leaving a Muslim extremist to preach hatred about the U.S. Army is a deadly negligence that cost 14 people their lives. (There was a pregnant mother among the slain). Diversity is an honorable goal--until it compromises American security. President Obama said we shouldn't "jump to conclusions" about Hasan. But, as Jonah Goldberg points out, we shouldn't jump away from them either.

A Fact a Day Keeps Obama's Doctors away...

While the House health care bill contains some protection for the unborn (at least for now), the rest of H.R. 3962 has plenty of problems that make the legislation dangerous for the American people. Section 571 would not only rewrite the current tax law but also redefine the family by giving "domestic partners" a tax break that treats homosexuals as the equivalent of married spouses. The text in the health care bill is almost identical to the text of a bill that Human Rights Campaign has been pushing, H.R. 2625. This has been a top priority for homosexual lobbying groups and signifies a major shift in U.S. federal policy, yet it was slipped into the bill without any debate or committee action--by the Sponsor of H.R. 2625, Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.).

The Left is attempting to divide the Huckabee/Palin Camps

This article is attempting to put a divide between the Huckabee/Palin electorate.  The writer has cleverly left you with the impression that this Kelly is a Huckabee supporter, when in truth he is as written, quote:  Kelley, a native of Kenosha, Wis., describes himself as a political independent with liberal views on some issues.  Kelley's last statement of supporting the Democrat Health Care Bill is proof of him being a leftist and not a Palin/Huckabee supporter.

Truth be told, the united force of the Conservatives of the GOP party has them big government Nationalists quaking in both parties and they are trying to fracture it.  Let's keep centered on the Quest of electing true Constitutional conservatives in 2010, one election at a time.  I myself am likening Huckabee*Palin in 2012, Palin*Rubio in 2020, but we must continue to encourage those who have in the past held the view that there is not any difference in parties to choose from.  We now have!

A week before Grand Rapids visits, Mike Huckabee complains of double standard in his national coverage vs. Sarah Palin's; Kuyper student plans Palin protest

By Jeff Cranson | The Grand Rapids Press

Just days before back-to-back book tour stops in Grand Rapids, a rivalry is building between 2012 presidential wannabees Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin.

At the same time, a student at the conservative, Grand Rapids-based Kuyper College has begun efforts to protest Palin's visit.

Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas and the leader in early polls surveying the GOP presidential field, complained to Politico of a double standard in media coverage....

...Huckabee will sign books in Grand Rapids Nov. 17. Palin will begin her book tour here the next day, Nov. 18.

Kuyper student Matthew Kelley, 21, says he has commitments from about 20 people to protest near the corner of East Beltline Avenue and 28th Street before Palin's stop at Barnes and Noble at the Woodland Mall.

Kelley, a native of Kenosha, Wis., describes himself as a political independent with liberal views on some issues. He's protesting former Gov. Palin, he said, because she "has not been a responsible public figure.

Subject: Fwd: The glue that holds us all together

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...and I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned....but I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want.
I will share anyway.
He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is....how He spoke the universe into being...how He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire...etc. etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) .......and I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking...."How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???"
Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.
And then I lost my breath.
And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!!
It was because he started talking about laminin.
I knew about laminin. Here is how wikipedia describes them :"Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue." You see....laminins are what hold us together....LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what laminin LOOKED LIKE.
But now I do. And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)....
Here is what the structure of laminin looks like...AND THIS IS NOT a "Christian portrayal" of it....if you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see...

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!
Amazing.
The glue that holds us together....ALL of us....is in the shape of the cross..
Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth , visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things,
and in him all things HOLD TOGETHER. "
Colossians 1:15-17
Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool.
Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together...one cell to another....by the cross.
You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin "glue" would look like long before Adam even breathed his first breath!!
Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Huckabee: GOP frontrunner ~ Doug Wead

By Doug Wead

   Mike Huckabee: GOP frontrunner

imageOne of the first rules they teach pilots is that during a crash landing you should not give up but keep flying your plane all the way to the ground. There may be things you can do, and even in the most hopeless of situations there may be little gifts - changes in the wind or the topography that can save your life. Only one GOP pilot has been flying his plane toward that crash landing and the Barack Obama landslide re-election in 2012 and that has been Governor Mike Huckabee. And now, thanks to a change in the winds, he just might land safely after all.

Yesterday's election demonstrates that the GOP is not dead and when the electorate has even three more years to forget George W. Bush, they may just get sick of Obamanomics.

Sarah Palin threw away her chances and continues to do so daily, demonstrating to her most enthusiastic supporters that the Katie Couric interview may not be the fault of Katie Couric.

Mitt Romney all but announced that he was too important to waste on a run for the presidency unless he could be assured of that win. For months he has been privately telling friends that all of Obama's spending will likely prompt an economic spike, and thus a Republican win in 2012 was unlikely.

Bobby Jindal has bowed out. And Tim Pawlenty must first pass through the evangelical gateway of Iowa, where his only hope of victory is if Hucakabee and Palin devour each other.

The latter is a very real possibility. Huckabee is a street fighter. And Palin will throw a punch first and talk about it later. The Iowa caucus could turn out to be as messy as the Russo-German front in World War Two, as the only two "born again" Christians duke it out. The one left standing will likely get the nomination. If Huckabee wins - and he has already demonstrated that he will not give Sarah a free pass - then it will be hard to beat him in the South, where he almost pulled off an upset last time with the media arbitrarily writing him off.

Newt Gingrich was counting on being the FOX candidate, but the emerging story of his hypocrisy in attacking Clinton-Lewinsky while he was having his own affair is hanging over him like Chappaquiddick. Every day he must ask himself, "If I run, will that sword fall?"

Karl Rove, looking for a candidate, assures him that no one remembers or cares. But Sarah Palin does. And so does Mike Huckabee. Yes Newt, it will fall.

Besides, Gingrich also hesitated - stopped flying his plane - and Huckabee slipped past him with his own FOX TV Show, debuting in the inglorious, lowly, awful, Saturday night slot. He was too nice, critics said. There was no conflict, he cannot be both a successful entertainer and a political candidate, one make audiences laugh and cry, and the other better not or he will lose elections.

But Huckabee did not forfeit his future for ratings and a paycheck, he kept flying his plane, he stayed nice and the audience came to him anyway, and now he not only has a successful television show, he is the front-runner for the GOP nomination for president in 2012.

Oh, how they would all like to relive the last twelve months. Keep flying that plane Mike. Anything can happen, including a safe landing.

Desiree Jennings that had been suffering continuous seizures and was said to have an incurable neurological disease caused by the seasonal flu vaccine has been cured after only 36 hours after starting a Holistic (natural) medicine treatment.

I don't know if her cure has made it out into mainstream media but we can bet that with the constant attacks on natural medicine and the longstanding coverup of the pharmaceutical industry regarding natural cures for other life threatening diseases that I can't see this getting much truth or play in the media.   The Holistic Doctor is preparing for all the attacks and warned Desiree and her husband that if it worked as well as he anticipated that she would be smeared as a liar and a fake eventhough John Hopkins Hospital and another medical hospital had confirmed her diagnosis.

Thank God that her husband looked outside the box and tried natural treatments to rid her body of the toxins in the vaccine.  Her condition had been deteriorating and was not expected to live much longer.

Praise God.  Let the truth be heard. Don't let anyone deter you from seeking help for your family. Think outside the box and do the research.  Don't let your loved ones die in the name of keeping drug companies in business.
